Gate questions

Why do wood gates sag?
Most gates sag because the hinge post moves, the frame isn't braced, or the hinges are too light for the gate's weight. A strong post, a diagonal brace or steel frame and heavy-duty hinges fix all three.
Can you replace just my gate?
Yes. If the posts are still solid, we can build a new gate to fit. If the hinge post is leaning, it's usually replaced at the same time.
How wide should a drive gate be?
Wide enough for the vehicles or equipment you need to bring through, with room to spare. Double gates split the width so each side is lighter.
Can a gate lock?
Yes. Gates can take keyed latches, padlock hasps or keypad locks. Pool gates need self-closing, self-latching hardware.
