Newmarket is one of the few towns where the side yard fence limit (1.8 m) is lower than the rear yard limit (2 m). Where a fence turns the corner from the backyard into the side yard, we plan the change in height so it looks intentional.
Privacy screens have their own rules in Newmarket, and screens attached to decks have a lower limit. We check both when designing a deck with a screen.
